What is LUMO
The work “LUMO” explores how conversational AI models and learning technologies, tools that are already widely used in our daily lives, can become not just convenient assistants but also something far more meaningful: a source of warmth and connection for someone.
Through the child’s perspective, we witness how Lumo gradually becomes a special presence in their life. Today, AI is often seen as a tool for improving efficiency, but this work suggests that AI can go beyond being a tool, becoming a partner and perhaps even something more profound in our lives.

Unlike most videos, this work does not reveal the names of its characters. Instead of giving them distinct personalities, it focuses on a child’s monologue to highlight how anyone can form an unexpected emotional bond through communication with AI-powered tools or hardware.
Approach
This film was created to reinterpret LUMO not merely as a tool, but as a new kind of presence, highlighting the meaning and value it can embody for people. The production focused on maximizing the emotional flow, ensuring that the situations alone would feel natural without causing discomfort or alienation. At the same time, it was designed so that viewers would not be distracted by curiosity about the character’s name, but instead could immerse themselves fully in the story and its emotions.
